Dr. Milagros López-Peláez Casellas, takes us into the analysis of Chicano cinema, a commitment to social reality in our days, and, the truth in previous days, we must attend to these calls, be next to the Chicano woman and against those who oppress it.

Yolanda López is a Chicana visual artist born in San Diego, California in 1942. Her work focuses on the experience of Mexican American women and often challenges ethnic stereotypes associated with them. Lopez is best known for her groundbreaking Virgin of Guadalupe series, an investigation of the Virgin of Guadalupe as an influential female icon. As a scholar as well as an artist, Lopez has taught studio classes and has lectured on contemporary Chicano art at the University of California at Berkeley and San Diego.

López has produced two films, Images of Mexicans in the Media and When you Think of Mexico, which challenge the way the mass media depicts Mexicans and other Latin Americans. print and electronic media, and has presented the video and lectured widely.
